Long Island in Willapa Bay
Long Island is located in the
Willapa Bay off the coast of
Washington.  It is the largest
Estuary Island on the Pacific
Coast.  It is rich in wildlife with
sightings of bear, elk, deer,
different species of birds, beaver,
otters and many other animals.  At
the launch, there is lots of free
parking with a wide accessible
boat launch.  On high tides you
can pull right up to solid ground
however, when the tide is low you
will have to walk in knee deep
mud.  There are many estuaries
which branch out in different
directions.  You can find walking
trails and designated campsites
on the island.  Stay alert and keep
your camera ready, you never
know whats around the bend.
